Description
Crossing Delancey is a heartwarming and charming romantic comedy by Susan Sandler that inspired the Golden Globe-nominated 1988 movie of the same name. It's a delightful story about Izzy, a young modern Jewish woman working at an independent bookstore on New York City’s upper West Side. Despite her independent spirit, her feisty and traditional grandmother, lovingly called "Bubbie," is worried about her and decides to intervene by hiring a marriage broker. The broker introduces Izzy to Sam, a pickle vendor from the Lower East Side. Izzy, who is initially infatuated with Tyler, a sophisticated and successful writer, is unsure if she has anything in common with Sam. The story unfolds as Izzy navigates the choice between the urbane author and the gentle, wise pickleman, exploring themes of family, tradition, cultural clashes, and the romantic allure of new experiences.
