Description	Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of Hedwig, a genderqueer East German punk-rock singer, and her journey to freedom and self-discovery. Born Hansel in East Berlin, Hedwig undergoes a botched gender reassignment surgery in order to marry an American GI and escape to the West. Years later, Hedwig leads a rock band on tour, telling her life story through a series of concerts while simultaneously pursuing her ex-lover/bandmate, Tommy Gnosis, who stole her songs.
