NotesAll parts require no singing, dialogue or dancing, only modest amounts of stage business. There is no pay involved, and only one or two rehearsals. These are good learning opportunities for people who may want to get more involved in operatic performance subsequently to get a feel for what a major production (cast of 30+, 23-piece orchestra) is like.
InstructionsThere will be no formal audition, only a meeting to gauge type and availability.

Roles

The HeadsmanM0+Calls for an adult male. The Headsman appears only in the Act I finale, entering with a sword and waiting to conduct an execution that doesn’t actually happen. He is hooded and cuts an impressive figure.
The Messenger BoyM/F0+The Messenger Boy is seen onstage throughout Act I, carrying messages to and from the sentries at the gates of the Tower of London, during the reign of Henry VIII. The character is a preteen boy, but can be played either by a preteen boy or a preteen girl costumed as a boy.
Little GirlF6-10The Little Girl appears briefly as a child being taken to the Royal Zoo by her grandmother. She interacts briefly with the sentries and then leaves the stage. Ideal age between 6 and 10.
