Li’l BitFProtagonist, whose story unfolds from childhood to adulthood, spanning from age eleven (11) to thirty-five (35). Her narrative is marked by her struggle with self-image, erratic behavior and alcohol abuse, stemming from family and societal ridicule and her complicated bond and sexually abusive relationship with her Uncle Peck. Li’l Bit is a mixture of victim and unwitting temptress, not quite complicit in the unconventional relationship with her uncle but not entirely blameless either
Things to Know - The actors portraying Li’l Bit and Uncle Peck need to be comfortable with some intimate physicality and suggestive sexual situations.
Uncle PeckMAttractive man in his mid to late forties/early fifties. Complex character, exhibiting both manipulative and nurturing traits, an alcoholic, WWII veteran, with possible PTSD, who significantly impacts Li’l Bit’s understanding of desire and intimacy. His affection toward Li’l Bit is mixed with lust and insecurity and ultimately self-loathing. Uncle Peck is the only one in the family who takes Li’L Bit seriously. Comes to a tragic end by drinking himself to death.
Things to Know - The actors portraying Li’l Bit and Uncle Peck need to be comfortable with some intimate physicality and suggestive sexual situations.
Male Greek ChorusM30-40This ensemble of characters played by three actors represents various societal influences, including taunting peers and family members, who contribute to Li’l Bit’s evolving understanding of love, sexuality, and self-worth. They often highlight the pressures and judgments Li’l Bit faces, adding another layer to her complex journey.
Things to Know - Plays Grandfather, Waiter, High School Boys (age range 30-40’s). Ability to harmonize a plus.
Teenage Greek ChorusF20-25This ensemble of characters played by three actors represents various societal influences, including taunting peers and family members, who contribute to Li’l Bit’s evolving understanding of love, sexuality, and self-worth. They often highlight the pressures and judgments Li’l Bit faces, adding another layer to her complex journey.
Things to Know - Plays Grandmother, High School Girls, and the voice of 11year old Li’l Bet (age range early to mid-20’s but needs to read young). Ability to harmonize a plus.
