Roles

RoleM/FAgeDescription
Andrew RalleyM20-30A handsome, charming TV star in his late 20s or early 30s who has just moved to New York. He is playing Hamlet in Central Park but hates the role, preferring the easy success of television. He is inexperienced, self-doubting, and easily tempted by fame, but grows under Barrymore's mentorship. He could easily glide through life, wafting on a cloud of good looks and affability. He is not without ego, however; he is more than accustomed to being the center of attention.
John BarrymoreM50-60The legendary 20th-century actor. He is described as a ghostly apparition—sly, dashing, romantic, and "phenomenally sexual".
Deirdre McDaveyF20-30Andrew's girlfriend. 20s - 30s, An idealistic, "super-sweet" romantic who is dedicated to saving herself for marriage, adding to Andrew's frustrations.
Felicia DantineF30-40mid 30s - 40s (open to any age) A high-energy real estate agent with a "carnal passion for New York City apartments". A student of spiritualism who arranges the seance that summons John Barrymore, though she initially thinks she fails to do so.
Lillian TroyF50-70Andrew's agent, a striking, sharp-witted woman in her 70s (50s-70s) with a German accent. She holds fond memories of a past affair with John Barrymore and keeps Andrew grounded in the reality of the business.
Gary Peter LefkowitzM0+Any Age. An arrogant and energetic Hollywood producer. Represents the superficial, fast-paced world of television, offering Andrew a lucrative TV pilot that challenges his commitment to Shakespeare.
