| Show | Undermined: Murder in the Sands |
| Company | Landmark Radio Theater |
| Notes | Open auditions for all roles in a new radio play to be performed on stage before a live audience, similar to a staged reading. Versatile performers are needed who can deliver distinctive voices for multiple characters. The play is a detective story set on Long Island in the 1940s; all characters are adults. Casting is based on sound; there is no need to "look the part." This "old-time radio" production includes period-style "station breaks" and songs between acts, so singing as well as non-singing actors will be cast. |
| Instructions | Sides will be provided. Auditioners who wish to be considered for singing roles should be prepared to sing 8 bars a cappella. Performance date: Sunday, Nov. 12, 4 p.m. |
| Rehearsal Dates | Monday evenings, Oct. 16, 23, 30 and Nov. 6; tech run-through on the morning of the performance. All cast members must plan to attend all rehearsals. |

| Show Info | Set on Long Island in the late 1940s, “Undermined: Murder in the Sands” tells the suspenseful story of a small-town private eye who takes on an assignment for a shady mining tycoon and finds himself entangled in a web of danger, intrigue and temptation, haunted by shadows from his own past. This new radio play was written especially for the Landmark Radio Theater in the classic style of detective shows from the Golden Age of radio broadcasting, and will be presented similarly to a staged reading, with music and sound effects performed live on stage. |
