Show Info | Travel back in time to the devil-may-care days of the Roaring 1920s with "Cocktail Blues: A Tale of the Jazz Age," a new comedy presented in the classic style of old-time radio. Set in Port Washington in 1924, "Cocktail Blues" tells the story of a newly wealthy family who rent a summer place on Long Island’s fabled Gold Coast in the Great Gatsby era. Flappers, jazz music and cocktails are all the rage, but Prohibition is in full force. Will trying to make a splash in high society boost their daughter’s chances for romance, or tangle the family up with bootleggers and land them behind bars? The performance features sound effects created live on stage, period songs and "station breaks" between acts, just as you might have heard them on the parlor radio back in the day. Come and join our "studio audience" for an hour of retro fun. |
