InstructionsPrepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song that reflects the style of Fiddler. You may sing from the show. You may be asked to stay and sing a portion of one of the songs listed in the character descriptions. Be familiar with them before auditioning. Be prepared to be asked to dance.
Rehearsal DatesThere will be a few rehearsals in early December and then full rehearsals starts the first week of January. We rehearse Monday through Thursday evenings and some weekend dates as the show nears. The children's ensemble will meet Wednesday evenings and then added to the full cast rehearsals in February.

TZEITELF18-25Tevye and Golde's eldest daughter. Responsible, spirited, and determined to marry for love rather than accept an arranged marriage. She challenges tradition while remaining devoted to her family.

HODELF17-24The second daughter. Intelligent, romantic, and increasingly independent. She falls in love with Perchik and ultimately leaves Anatevka to join him in Siberia.

CHAVAF15-22The third daughter. Quiet, thoughtful, and an avid reader. She falls in love with Fyedka, a Russian Christian, challenging her father's deepest beliefs.

MOTEL KAMZOILM18-30A poor, shy tailor who is deeply in love with Tzeitel. Initially timid and nervous, Motel gradually finds the courage to stand up to Tevye and ask for Tzeitel's hand.
Excellent comedic timing and ability to portray a believable character transformation. Tenor. Strong acting and singing required.

PERCHIKM20-35A passionate young student and revolutionary who challenges traditional customs and introduces new ideas to Anatevka. He falls in love with Hodel.
Strong actor with an intelligent, confident stage presence. Baritone/tenor. Must be comfortable with movement and partnered dancing.

FYEDKAM20-30A young Russian Christian who falls in love with Chava. Kind and respectful, he challenges the prejudices and divisions between their communities.
Strong dramatic acting and believable chemistry with Chava. Primarily a non-singing role, although ensemble singing may be required.

YENTEF50-75The village matchmaker. Talkative, opinionated, meddlesome, and endlessly entertaining. Yente is a fixture of village life and provides much of the show's comic relief.

LAZAR WOLFM45-65A wealthy butcher and widower who wishes to marry Tzeitel. Gruff, proud, and accustomed to getting his way, but not without a human side.

MORDCHAM/F35-65The village innkeeper who operates the local tavern. A familiar and respected member of the community.
