Show | MATILDA THE MUSICAL Young Actors Audition |
Company | Theatre Three |
Notes | It is important that the Young Actors arrive at the audition on time, with a parent or guardian to fill out paperwork. To be considered, Young Actors must stay for the entire audition process. Young Actors should attend only one of the two audition dates. Young Actors will review [see website for link] and spend time working on them with musical director Jeffrey Hoffman. Then each Young Actor will sing solo. Young Actors will then be taught the dance combination “Revolting Children.” [See website to view combination] by choreographer Sari Feldman and will dance in groups. Young Actors will then review the audition sides with director Jeffrey Sanzel and will read in small groups. Callbacks to be determined. ALL MATERIALS CAN BE VIEWED HERE: https://theatrethree.com/auditions-page All rehearsal conflicts must be indicated on audition form. The entire company must be available for all rehearsals beginning September 2. |
Instructions | Auditioning strong singer/actor/dancers (ages 8 to 13; must be under 5 feet tall). Bring headshot or current photo. Resume optional. Audition will be composed of three separate parts: Singing, dancing, and reading. All materials—including audition sides, sheet music, vocal tracks, and dance video—can be found here: [ see website for link]. We provide these so that Young Actors may spend time with the material prior to the audition. We do not expect the material to be memorized. Please emphasize work on clear speech in the reading and singing. |
